Tuesday

Celebrating another Illini win! Of course I let them stay up past their bedtime. It's not every day your team wins at Wisconsin. Oh wait, Illinois seems to do it quite often.

  1. blasphemy - I feel for your girls. Where is Michelle to keep them (and especially you) in line.

I guess the badgers must go easy on them since they are wearing their blaze orange all the time. They have the ugliest uniforms.

Todd did you explain to Katy and Molly that Illinois has a racist mascot?

How are Illinois' football and hockey programs doing?

Yeah I am bitter. We could have built a new Kohl Center with all the bricks they put up on Tuesday.

    Take care, Todd

  2. Illinois is the only school in the Big Ten that doesn't have a mascot, just like Wisconsin is the only school in the Big Ten not to have a baseball team.

And Illinois was in there blue uniforms on Tuesday.

Don't be bitter. At least Wisconsin has a football team.

  3. Bitter - naw Wisconsin is consistently in the top 15 nationally across all sports programs. I don't know where Illinois falls, but I know it is below us.

No mascot - really. that should tell you something. I thought they had some Indian mascost. Chief something or other.

I was at work and didn't see the game. Just assumed they wore the blaze orange hunting clothes. Maybe Bo Ryan banned them...

We have hockey too and they are great - and a revenue producer (which is the key for colleges these days). I wish we had baseball but that pesky title nine gets in the way.

  5. Two years ago The Chief was banned from all print/video/audio media and from the uniforms. Plus he can no longer perform at games. And the words "Fighting Illini" were removed from all uniforms. They are officially just the Illini now. And it was only racist because a white person said it was. The person performing was at least part Native American, in an authentic Native American costume, performing an authentic Native American Dance, all of which were given the blessing of the Native Americans who were supposedly being made fun of. Interesting.

And last years final Directors Cup standings were:

    Illinois - 20
    Wisconsin - 40

So maybe Illinois isn't as bad as you think it is. Of course the previous three years WI finished ahead of IL and then I got sick of researching it anymore.
